Future Schools Istanbul
The Future Schools Complex project in Basaksehir, Istanbul, is a visionary endeavor aimed at serving the local community. This educational facility encompasses all stages of schooling, accommodating a total of 1,370 students in each school, adhering to the rigorous standards and requirements set by the Turkish Ministry of Education and the property owner.
The Future Schools Complex is not your typical school project; it stands out as an architectural masterpiece that sets a new standard in the region.
The project encountered several challenges, all of which were expertly addressed by the digital architecture team, both in terms of design and construction. The result is a stunning Andalusian architectural marvel that has become a landmark in the area.
One of the major challenges was the significant slope of the land, reaching up to 34 meters. This required a thorough study to minimize excavation and filling operations. Additionally, the project had to contend with vibrations caused by the passage of a metro line through part of the site.
Furthermore, the client’s requirement to segregate the schools by gender while providing dedicated courtyards for each educational stage presented another unique challenge. The design also had to ensure an optimal entrance aligned with the site’s slope to facilitate the movement of buses and project vehicles.
Designing a school that includes all stages of education within itself was a monumental task in itself. Additionally, ensuring proper lighting and ventilation for each classroom and making the most of green spaces and sports facilities while adhering to necessary standards were key considerations.
